The research center at Voters2Be seeks to understand current civic engagement programs and create a plan for the future that will boost public participation in political affairs and student political knowledge. The goal of the research center is to support our programming by helping the education team understand current barriers to voter turnout and levels of voter engagement. By understanding current civic engagement programs and innovating new ones, the research center at Voters2Be creates solutions that will protect our democracy for years to come.
If you would like to contribute to our research and are between the ages of 7 and 18, please fill out these surveys so we can gain data about youth political knowledge and education: Youth Political Knowledge: https://forms.gle/PLTu3xi8XawrVNBL6
2024 Election: https://forms.gle/SYx9gAVjRcarZhBk8
First, the center will look at levels of voter turnout in each state and how these levels compare to the demographics of each state.
Next, we plan on creating our own software to survey the levels of political knowledge that teens have. This will help us inform our future work and curriculum. These surveys will center around political issues, the 2024 election, and other topics.
Next, we will look at civic engagement programs in the United States and current programs in high schools and student centers across the country.
We will use all our previous research to determine the skills that teens and young adults need to engage in civil discourse and dialogue across lines of difference.
