Plan for the Research Center
Step 1: Levels of Voter Turnout
First, the center will look at levels of voter turnout in each state and how these levels compare to the demographics of each state.
Step 2: Digital Infrastructure and Data
Next, we plan on creating our own software to survey the levels of political knowledge that teens have. This will help us inform our future work and curriculum. These surveys will center around political issues, the 2024 election, and other topics.
Step 3: Understanding Current State of Civic Education Programs
Next, we will look at civic engagement programs in the United States and current programs in high schools and student centers across the country.
Step 5: Plan for Fostering Civil Discourse
We will use all our previous research to determine the skills that teens and young adults need to engage in civil discourse and dialogue across lines of difference.
